ELECTED

President - Presides at the meetings of the Chapter and shall have general charge of the affairs and business of the Chapter.  Develops strategic focus and oversees projects delegated to others on Board and Committees.  Candidates for Chapter President must be members in good standing of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

President-Elect - The President-Elect, at the request of the President, or in the President’s absence, may perform the duties of the President. Completes the annual SHAPE plan and assist President on the day to day duties of the Chapter.  The President-Elect assumes the role of the President at the completion of their term.

Secretary
  - Processes mailings, preparation of a record of the proceedings of all meetings and other correspondences, oversees scheduling monthly luncheons.

Treasurer
- Maintains financial affairs and transactions of the Chapter, completes any necessary IRS business and collects payments from members/guests for meetings and other events.

VP of Public Relations - Oversees and manages the marketing and public relations activities of the Chapter. Coordinates the publication of  the newsletter, oversees website content (both public and internal), manages social media presence (Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook), and makes recommendations for fostering communication with the HR community in general.

VP of Membership -  Focuses on recruitment and promoting to SHRM national members. Provide services to enhance the value perceived for membership within the Chapter.  Encourages members-at-large (members of SHRM National who do not have a current membership with the local chapter) to join and participate in the Lake Geauga SHRM Chapter

VP of Programs & Professional Development - Responsible for working with the membership survey to determine areas of interest and potential presenters, assisting with brainstorming sessions to plan the year’s programming scheduling, locating/contacting/securing presenters, assembling speaker profiles and program descriptions for program announcements, and introducing presenters.

VP Legislation - Educates our members and the community on relevant legislative issues and how they can get involved via the chapter newsletter, programming events, relationships with the Chambers of Commerce, and other communication vehicles.

 



APPOINTED

 

Work Force Readiness Director -  Provides high-quality, cost effective education and training on human resource issues like to job coaching, interview coaching, resume building, networking to both the local business community and professional organizations through partnerships.

College Relations Director - Coordinating activities with the student chapters,  manage the scholarship program, internship program, and college outreach efforts, facilitate job shadowing for the student chapters.

Sponsorship Director - Identify and acquire sponsors for Chapter meetings and events who are willing to assist the Chapter financially in return for an opportunity to promote their product or service to members. Conduct benchmarking and networking activities necessary for creating a viable sponsor program.

Newsletter Director - Provide timely and comprehensive information to Chapter members about programs, workshops, and other matters of interest via Chapter Newsletter.

SHRM Foundation Director - Educate, promote, and represent the interests of the SHRM Foundation and its activities to the chapter membership. Chair fundraising activities and complete applicable forms for donation and awards. Provide or write regular articles for Chapter newsletter.

Community Relations Director - Manage the Chapter’s community outreach efforts. Create and maintain a favorable image of the Chapter working for the professional development of its members by: (a) keeping membership and local community informed of Chapter projects, activities and upcoming meetings, and (b) disseminating relevant professional information viewed as beneficial to the members and local community.

Hospitality Director - Welcome new members into the Chapter and help coordinate the logistics of monthly membership meetings. Coordinate and oversee the monthly door prize drawing and SHRM Foundation 50/50 raffle. Provide speakers "Thank you” gifts.

Certification Director Arrange monthly meeting eligibility for re-certification credits. Manage the Chapter’s certification study program. Encourage members to become certified and recertified. Increase the number of Chapter members who are certified through SHRM (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) and by the 
HR Certification Institute (PHR/SPHR/GPHR).


Diversity Director - Serve as an appointed member of the Chapter Board of Directors. Monitor and evaluate on a continuing basis local activities concerning diversity issues. Spearhead the effort to diversify the Chapter's membership/leadership and to publicize successful diversity programs in the local community.
