Our Purpose

The Lake/Geauga Area Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, as well as the National SHRM, has the following primary goals:

SHRM will:

• Be the primary influencer of workplace policies and practices that benefit our members and the organizations they serve;
  
  
• Build a broad and actively engaged membership that ensures dissemination of leading practices to the workplace;
  
  
• Be the major source for building strong competence and developing the talent and leadership of people in our organizations; and
  
  
• Ensure a solid financial structure that permits reinvestment in initiatives and learning that advances the state of the profession.

Superior Merit Award

Lake/Geauga Area Chapter was recognized in 2005 with a Superior Merit Award.    These awards represent the national recognition from SHRM in Alexandria and are given to chapters in recognition of excellence in chapter operations and commitment by providing meaningful programs and services to their members. Thanks to the Executive Board of Lake/Geauga we have distinguished ourselves as an outstanding organization that is dedicated to the professional advancement of our members and the advancement of the human resource management profession.
